10 Week Class ONLINE | Registration opens 2026-10-15 12:00 PM
The winter landscape is a centuries-old tradition in art history, spanning classic masterworks by Bruegel to contemporary interpretations by Peter Doig and Kim Dorland. Each artist offers a distinct vision of one of nature’s most challenging seasons to capture on canvas. In this course, we will explore the many aspects of snow in landscape, cityscape images and abstract interpretations. Personal student experiences and images will be encouraged to help add emotional aspects to their works. Various paint handing approaches will be discussed and demonstrated throughout the class.
Students should be prepared to begin painting in the first class.
