Print & Collage: 3D Explorations

In this new and exciting and course of monoprinting beyond paper, you will discover the creative possibilities of Gelli Plate Printing and Collaging on three-dimensional surfaces. Working with wood, cork, cardboard, found objects and more, you will learn how to create unique prints and layered designs, experimenting with masks, stencils, images, textures and mark making, transforming ordinary objects and materials into unique works of art.
Base Tuition: $355 + Material Fee: $25 = $380 Total

- Learning how to monoprint using gel plates
- Learning about strategies for collage work
- Repeating colour, pattern and imagery
- Creating rhythm and visual movement around a 3D object
- Working with the shape of the object rather than simply decorating its surface
- Combining Gelli plate prints with collage and found imagery

- Gelli Plate (I prefer Gelli Arts which work with both Acrylics and Water Based Block Printing Inks)
- Soft brayer
- Speedball water based block printing inks, tubes - a few colours
- Pair of good scissors and cutting knives
- Cutting mat
- Soft flat brushes
- Stencils, masks, stamps and texture-making materials
- Variety of papers
Tina Oehmsen-Clark
Tina's work has always been an exploration between various art forms, including sound, dance, installation, sculpture and drawing. She has exhibited in various galleries, museums and public spaces in Germany, Denmark and Canada. Since moving to Toronto in 1996, Oehmsen-Clark has worked on art projects at the AGO, Ryerson Student Gallery, Dancemakers and Wychwood Artscape. Besides her own art practice, she has taught in a number of schools and institutions including TSA. Tina always enjoys working with a wide age range, and believes that teaching art is an interactive learning process, both to inspire and be inspired.
