Uncover the core mechanics of drawing in this comprehensive introductory course designed to build your skills from the ground up. You will explore a variety of traditional drawing tools, shading and highlighting techniques to create realistic dimensions and practice foundational sketching through observational studies. The curriculum also introduces spatial perspective, basic portraiture and figure drawing - giving you a strong, versatile toolkit to translate what you see onto paper.

Bri Dyer
Guest Artist
Bri is a Toronto-based visual artist and art educator specializing in drawing and painting. With over five years of experience teaching art to students of all ages, her practice explores memory, the Everyday, and the beauty found in routine moments. Working primarily from photographic references, Bri examines the relationship between photography and painting as forms of remembering. Her paintings recontextualize fleeting images, transforming them through emotion, symbolism, and materiality. Her work bridges the present and past, inviting viewers to reflect on moments often overlooked or forgotten.
Bri holds a Bachelors of Fine Art (Honours) from OCAD University and has exhibited her work in group and solo exhibitions across Toronto.
