Molding & Casting

12 Week Class | Available

This course will guide students through the steps of making a silicone mold of a sculpture, which will then be cast in resin (liquid plastic). The focus will be on silicone block molds for small scale sculptures and brush-on silicone molds for sculptures up to 15 inches. Every sculpture presents its own challenges and students will be guided through the processes to design a mold that works best for their chosen sculpture. The placement of the cut line, the flow of material through the sculpture and undercuts will be discussed and analyzed so that students can apply these concepts to future mold making projects.

Base Tuition: $550 + Material Fee: $150 = $700 Total
