Expressive Figure Drawing in Mixed Media

10 Week Class | Available

Discover new ways of drawing and interpreting the human figure through a variety of mixed-media approaches. Using charcoal, ink, watercolour, pencil and other materials, students will explore gesture, proportion, expression and personal creativity while working from live models and photographic references. This course encourages experimentation and helps students develop both observational skills and artistic confidence.

Base Tuition:

    * Technique specific drawing materials will be provided in class each week that are relevant to that week's demonstration. Students should also come prepared with: 

    - 1x 18" x 24" newsprint pad
    - 1x 18" x 24" white cartridge pad
    - Graphite pencil set
    - Kneaded eraser
    - Black charcoal pencil
    - White charcoal pencil
    - Black India ink
    - Small watercolour set
    - Empty water barrel brush or set

Rosenow, Lindsey
Lindsey Rosenow

Lindsey is a Toronto-based Artist who has been teaching in Toronto for the last 6 years. She has taught film making, stop motion and classical animation, script writing, camera editing and video game design at the Toronto International Film Festival. And at the Animation Portfolio Workshop, topics included Gesture Drawing, Structure Drawing, Anatomy, Character Design, Perspective, Layout Design, Composition, Animation for beginners, and Storyboarding. Currently, Lindsey is working freelance with a focus on design jobs for animation as a layout artist and prop designer. Lindsey is a big believer in progressive learning - she values transferable skills over singular assignments, making sure that all lessons work cohesively with one another.
