Dynamic Sketching Fundamentals

This course teaches students how to simplify complex subjects into clear, dynamic sketches with the use of structure, perspective, value and texture rendering. Working primarily on toned paper with pens, markers, and pencil crayons, students will sketch a wide variety of natural and man-made subjects while developing stronger observational and problem-solving skills.
Note: There is no class on October 12th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

- Please keep your receipts in case you need to return items.
We will look at some sketchbook examples during our first class so students can make an informed decision about their preferred color palette. Extra pens, markers and pencils will be available throughout the semester for students to experiment with during class.
For the first class, please come prepared with:- A white sketchbook or white printer paper on a clipboardraphite pencils
- Eraser and Sharpener
- Black fineliner pens (0.3mm and 0.5mm)
Second class onwards:
Lindsey Rosenow
Lindsey is a Toronto-based Artist who has been teaching in Toronto for the last 6 years.
She has taught film making, stop motion and classical animation, script writing, camera editing and video game design at the Toronto International Film Festival. And at the Animation Portfolio Workshop, topics included Gesture Drawing, Structure Drawing, Anatomy, Character Design, Perspective, Layout Design, Composition, Animation for beginners, and Storyboarding. Currently, Lindsey is working freelance with a focus on design jobs for animation as a layout artist and prop designer.
Lindsey is a big believer in progressive learning - she values transferable skills over singular assignments, making sure that all lessons work cohesively with one another.
