Dive into an inspiring journey where mono printing and watercolour intersect through creative experimentation. Designed for intermediate artists, this course invites you to push beyond traditional methods as you explore unconventional techniques, layered imagery, textural mark-making and innovative uses of colour. Through hands-on demonstrations and guided studio time, you’ll work with a variety of experimental materials to create expressive prints and mixed-media watercolour works. Each 3-hour session offers opportunities to refine your technical skills, expand your visual language and develop a personal approach to process-driven art making.

Perfect for artists ready to explore, take risks and transform their practice with fresh ideas and contemporary techniques.

Base Tuition:

  • What You Will Learn:
    - Mono printing techniques with and without Gelli plates
    - Expressive and innovative watercolour techniques
    - Background building with texture and colour
    - Developing Ideas and creating a series of work
  • Please keep all purchase receipts in case items need to be returned.

    - Printing and watercolour paper
    - Set of watercolours and watercolour pencils
    - Fine liner pens (0.8, 0.5), white gel pen
    - Round and flat brushes, various sizes (small to medium)
    - Soft brayer and Gelli Plate for block printing inks

    You will be advised what to bring to first class and materials will be discussed.

Tina Oehmsen-Clark

Tina's work has always been an exploration between various art forms, including sound, dance, installation, sculpture and drawing. She has exhibited in various galleries, museums and public spaces in Germany, Denmark and Canada. Since moving to Toronto in 1996, Oehmsen-Clark has worked on art projects at the AGO, Ryerson Student Gallery, Dancemakers and Wychwood Artscape. Besides her own art practice, she has taught in a number of schools and institutions including TSA. Tina always enjoys working with a wide age range, and believes that teaching art is an interactive learning process, both to inspire and be inspired.
