Landscape Painting: Creating Atmospheric Depth
4 Week Class | Registration opens 2026-04-14 12:00 PM
This course focuses on building depth and space in landscape painting through the study of atmospheric perspective, value relationships, and colour temperature. Working from reference images and observation, students will learn how to create convincing distance, light, and spatial clarity in their compositions.
Through demonstrations and guided exercises, we will explore how foreground, middle ground, and background interact, how edges and detail shift with distance, and how subtle changes in value and saturation create atmosphere. Students will strengthen both their technical skills and compositional awareness while developing a more confident approach to landscape painting.
Suitable for students working in acrylic or oil.
