If you love working with clay, this course is for you!
In this hands-on summer intensive, young artists will dive into the expressive world of clay. Over four creative days, participants will explore foundational hand-building techniques - from pinch pots to coil and slab construction - while designing their own animals, characters, vessels and more. Each sculpture will be glazed and kiln-fired, giving students the chance to decorate and finish their pieces with vibrant surface design. With a mix of group instruction and one-on-one mentorship, this workshop is an inspiring opportunity to grow skills, experiment with materials and develop personal artistic ideas.
Base Tuition: $345 + Material Fee: $30 = $375 Total

Tina Oehmsen-Clark
Tina's work has always been an exploration between various art forms, including sound, dance, installation, sculpture and drawing. She has exhibited in various galleries, museums and public spaces in Germany, Denmark and Canada. Since moving to Toronto in 1996, Oehmsen-Clark has worked on art projects at the AGO, Ryerson Student Gallery, Dancemakers and Wychwood Artscape. Besides her own art practice, she has taught in a number of schools and institutions including TSA. Tina always enjoys working with a wide age range, and believes that teaching art is an interactive learning process, both to inspire and be inspired.
