Creative Landscape Painting

The natural landscape has been a source of inspiration for artists throughout art history. This course is designed to provide creative practices enabling you to bring your own landscapes to life. We will use photography, collage, digital applications, and drawing for our pre-sketches and then paint them with proper mediums. Suggested materials are acrylic and oil, but you can also use other mediums. We will also focus on improving your skills in composition, colour theory, and image perception. Through tutorials and discussing classic and contemporary landscape paintings, we will explore different styles and techniques and experience the full potential and scope of landscape painting.
Note: Previous painting experience is recommended for this course.
Base Tuition: $442 + Material Fee: $10 = $452 Total

- What You Will Learn:
- To Compose and collage photographs and different materials according to composition rules to create unique paintings
- Learn a variety of colour schemes, and choosing the proper one based on your sketches
- Generate unique compositions with a deep understanding of composition rules, masses, forms, values, light and shadow planes, & atmospheric perspective
- Study the works of contemporary artists who use nature as a context to develop their ideas
- Develop stronger observation and technical skills in landscape painting
- Reproduce landscape elements
Leila Refahi
Leila is a visual artist, researcher, and educator working across painting, installation, and digital media. Her practice explores environmental issues such as climate change, ecological loss, and endangered species, with a strong focus on socially engaged and participatory art. Through her work, she is interested in how art can raise environmental awareness and contribute to shared knowledge within communities. Refahi has presented six solo exhibitions and participated in over 60 national and international group exhibitions and festivals.
