Botanicals & Insects: Drawing & Monoprinting

This course is designed for students who want to learn how to draw and print botanicals and

insects and exploring their interconnection in the natural and art world.

Discover the possibilities of drawing, printing, collaging and more with a variety of wet and dry

media including ink, water colour, pencils and pencil crayons. You will be introduced to mono

printing, using gelli plates which offer exciting possibilities - including self made stencils,

printing plates, stamps, image and drawing transfers, mark making as well as preparing

backgrounds and working with multiple layers Student work will be shown and discussed at the

end of each class and individual feedback will be part of each session. Hand Outs for further

exploration will be provided.

Oehmsen-Clark, Tina
Tina Oehmsen-Clark

Tina's work has always been an exploration between various art forms, including sound, dance, installation, sculpture and drawing. She has exhibited in various galleries, museums and public spaces in Germany, Denmark and Canada. Since moving to Toronto in 1996, Oehmsen-Clark has worked on art projects at the AGO, Ryerson Student Gallery, Dancemakers and Wychwood Artscape. Besides her own art practice, she has taught in a number of schools and institutions including TSA. Tina always enjoys working with a wide age range, and believes that teaching art is an interactive learning process, both to inspire and be inspired.
