Youth: Clay Studio Club & Mask Making (11-16yrs)

4 Day Workshop | This course is currently not open for registration.

This combination workshop offers young artists ages 11-16 years an opportunity to explore clay hand building & mask making techniques!

With clay, we’ll learn to make everything from ‘pinch pots’ and vessels to animals and characters using coils, slabs and other fun techniques. You’ll learn how to decorate and paint your creations with underglazes and pieces will be glazed and fired. This is a great opportunity to expand your creativity and learn about ceramic processes, materials and techniques.

As well, we will explore masks throughout history, discovering materials and processes in order to create your own and unique three dimensional piece of wearable art. We will be working with various materials including cardboard, recycling items, plaster and paint as well as collage and assemblage techniques.

Through presentations, demonstrations and hands-on studio time, you will develop technical skills using both traditional and non-traditional materials and receive mentorship in individual and group discussions.

Base Tuition: $340 + Material Fee: $30 = $370 Total
