Youth: Mask Making (11-16yrs)

Join us for this exciting and new workshop in our professional and safe studio environment at TSA. You will be learning about masks throughout history as well as materials and processes in order to create your own and unique three dimensional piece of wearable art. We will be working with various materials including cardboard, recycling items, plaster and paint as well as collage and assemblage techniques.
Through presentations, demonstrations and hands-on studio time, you will develop technical skills using both traditional and non-traditional materials and receive mentorship in individual and group discussions.

Tina Oehmsen-Clark
Tina's work has always been an exploration between various art forms, including sound, dance, installation, sculpture and drawing. She has exhibited in various galleries, museums and public spaces in Germany, Denmark and Canada. Since moving to Toronto in 1996, Oehmsen-Clark has worked on art projects at the AGO, Ryerson Student Gallery, Dancemakers and Wychwood Artscape. Besides her own art practice, she has taught in a number of schools and institutions including TSA. Tina always enjoys working with a wide age range, and believes that teaching art is an interactive learning process, both to inspire and be inspired.
