Introduction to Ceramics: Throwing & Handbuilding
10 Week Class | FULL
This comprehensive course is designed for students interested in learning and furthering ceramics throwing and handbuilding techniques. Students will explore the creative possibilities of clay through hands-on experience, gaining valuable foundation in various methods and approaches. By the end of the course students will have created a range of pieces, utilizing both hand-built and thrown techniques.
Base Tuition: $510 + Material Fee: $55 = $565 Total

Jon Packer
Jon is a graduate of the 3-D design degree program at Ravensbourne School of Art and Design (now Ravensbourne University) in London, UK with a Bachelor of Arts in ceramics. After graduation, Jon established a thriving clay studio in London, taught adult classes, and exhibited and produced commissioned work for home and retail. On relocating to Toronto, Jon has taught ceramics to youth and adults, exhibited in the city, curated an extensive exhibit of contemporary British ceramics and was invited to join the Board of Directors of the Ontario Crafts Council. Jon has pursued his own arts practice and continues to apply his teaching to help more students benefit from enjoying their own experience with clay. Jon was a long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Gardiner Museum in Toronto and provides public relations support to the Toronto School of Art.
