11 Week Class | Available

This course will focus on introducing students to the basics of animal drawing. We will begin with an introduction into the structural forms of animals and how they are built. Moving forward, you will learn the concepts of gesture, contour, weight and introductory anatomy for a variety of different animals. Through our time together we will study: birds, cats, dogs, farm animals, primates, large herbivores, carnivores and what characteristics make each creature unique. We will also explore rendering techniques with water-soluble materials to illustrate mass, pattern, fur and feathers. Students will draw from a series of photos and video examples provided by the instructor in class and on Google Drive.
