Experimental Drawing

This is a course for students who want to expand their drawing practice with a combination of traditional and non-traditional techniques, using various wet and dry media and are open to new and challenging ideas. We’ll explore mark making, texture, line, colour and composition and create abstract and representational work on two and three dimensional supports. Through presentations, demonstrations, group investigations and discussions, we will explore drawing as an expressive art form that can bridge various art disciplines including sculpture, performance, installation and more. You will be encouraged to get out of your comfort zone working with extensions, using wall space, easels and floors. You’ll receive mentorship in both individual and group discussions.
Base Tuition: $270 + Material Fee: $25 = $295 Total

Tina Oehmsen-Clark
Tina's work has always been an exploration between various art forms, including sound, dance, installation, sculpture and drawing. She has exhibited in various galleries, museums and public spaces in Germany, Denmark and Canada. Since moving to Toronto in 1996, Oehmsen-Clark has worked on art projects at the AGO, Ryerson Student Gallery, Dancemakers and Wychwood Artscape. Besides her own art practice, she has taught in a number of schools and institutions including TSA. Tina always enjoys working with a wide age range, and believes that teaching art is an interactive learning process, both to inspire and be inspired.
