Ceramics: Throwing on the Potter's Wheel

An introductory class for anyone who wants to learn the art and fun of pottery making on the wheel. We will focus on the basic techniques of centreing, pulling, trimming, wheel speed and body position. Students will also explore forming and finishing and be introduced to surface treatments, glazing methods and the firing process. This course is also suitable for students who'd like to further train and improve their throwing skills.
Base Tuition: $565 + Material Fee: $55 = $620 Total

Alex Yeung
Alex is a detail-oriented and dedicated teacher. For over 20 years, he has taught pottery (both handbuilding and wheel throwing) and has run a variety of ceramic studios. His work is included in a variety of collections in Canada, Hong Kong, the United States and Europe. He is enthusiastic about students having a strong knowledge base for many different types of forming methods, surface treatments and firing techniques and is excited to be joining TSA.
