Painting Foundations
11 Week Class | This course is currently not open for registration.
This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of painting. Working primarily from direct observation of still life arrangements, as well as through demos and slide presentations, students will learn about painting materials, value, light and form, colour, composition and most importantly, how to forget what we think we know and paint what we see!
Notes:
- Some drawing experience is recommended.
- The course will be taught in oils but acrylics are welcome (please see below for materials suggestions).
Note: There will be no class on October 14, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday
Base Tuition: $495 + Materials Fee: $10 = Total: $505

Brian Harvey
Brian lives and works in Toronto. He has been painting and exhibiting for over a decade and his work can be found in public and private collections across Canada, the United States and Europe.
His paintings are studies of the commonplace and the typically mundane: the everyday objects, spaces and urban landscapes that surround him that are frequently overlooked.
He has training from Seneca College, Sheridan College, Toronto School of Art, the Art Centre at Central Technical School, and has recently completed a BFA from OCAD University in Toronto.
