Summer Reading Adventures
This fun and engaging summer course is designed for students entering 3rd grade who need targeted practice. Through thematic units built around high-interest topics, students will develop automaticity with grade-level words, strengthen decoding strategies, and build confidence as independent readers and writers.
The instructional approach will be based on Structured Literacy Models with focus on skills through both direct and small group instruction. The practices utilized in this class will follow the Science of Reading and are meant to help students maintain and grow their literacy skills through the summer.
This class meets the requirement for students who have not exited their reading plans during the school year based on ACT 20.
