Captain Deb and her husband, Hugh sold their home in Boise, Idaho in 2014. Deb sold her award winning Sales & Marketing (21 years) company in 2016. The past 6.5 years, have  lived aboard their Beneteau Oceanis 381 sailboat, S/V Simplicity, full-time. They sailed the West Coast of the United States from Seattle, Puget Sound to the San Juans, to San Diego; from Houston, Texas, to Florida, stopping in Pensacola, Key West, and on up to Maine with 2 years of extensive Bahamian Island sailing including the Abacos, Eleuethra, and Exumas.  Most recently sailed to Turks & Caicos, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and heading to Grenada.  They have travel over 20,000 nautical miles along the Pacific, Gulf of Mexico, and Atlantic East coastlines and Caribbean Sea.

Captain Deb is now dedicated to helping other people who love the sea to feel confident on their vessels, offering courses for every skill level. She is also a full-time advanced Certified Transformation Life Coach through the Brave Thinking Institute. Her students find her teaching style to be easy to learn from, fun and engaging.
