26226 Ready, Sett, Rep!
Class | Available
Registration Deadline: 8/3
This 2-hour lecture is a primer to the Rep Basics workshop. You will learn the fundamentals of rep weave and how to manage this warp-faced structure on the loom. With the aid of PowerPoint slides and hand outs, this class will teach you how to read a draft, wind your warp and dress your loom and ultimately weave your own rep weave piece. If you have never woven rep weave before, this is a prerequisite for the Rep Basics class, coming in October.

Susan Gilday
Susan has been weaving since 1983. Shortly after moving to Boston, she found a local yarn store that offered weaving classes. Her first class was rigid heddle weaving and she was hooked. She has been a member of Weaver’s Guild of Boston, Potomac Weaver’s Guild, Mystic Weavers Guild and most recently the Weaver’s Guild of Rochester. Her awards include two Best in Division at the New York State Fair (2019, 2023), and Third Place in the Convergence 2022 Fashion Show. She has taken many many many many classes and workshops since that rigid heddle class, but feels most drawn to rep, double weave and deflected double weave.
