Registration Deadline: 7/6

Do you have a loom you inherited? One that you bought years ago, but haven’t touched in a long time? Would you like to learn how to use it this summer? This two-week intensive workshop offers you the chance! Bring your loom and leave it in our back room from 7/13 through 7/23. Pam Meehl will teach you the basics of the loom, and help you wind a warp, put it on your loom and start weaving a small project. No worries if you don’t finish—it’s your loom to take home and complete your weaving! Pam will also guide you on basic finishing techniques.

AGE:  14 and up

  • STUDENT SUPPLIES: Loom, shuttle, scissors. You can use our yarn or bring your own.

Like many fiber enthusiasts, I first learned to crochet from my mother at a young age and quickly fell in love with working with yarn. Over the years I made countless scarves and afghans, but eventually I wanted to explore fiber arts more deeply. My journey into weaving began with my first inkle loom, which my husband built for me one evening. From there, one loom led to another—inkle looms became table looms, table looms became floor looms, and before long I had expanded into spinning and ultimately dyeing my own yarns. This has led to my small business selling hand dyed warps for weavers.

While focusing on fiber arts, I taught high school Physics and Chemistry for a decade. That background connects naturally with weaving, which blends creativity with structure. I’m especially drawn to the mathematical precision of weaving—the patterns, planning, and problem-solving that bring cloth to life.
