This fall’s study group offers seven programs, beginning Thursday, September 18, concluding Thursday, October 30. Our wide diversity includes the incomparable Hal Holbrook’s performance as Mark Twain; the life of CBS TV’s legendary newsman Charles Kuralt; art historian Simon Schama’s fascinating take on Turner and Van Gogh; a pop music documentary of the ‘70s “Echo in the Canyon”; American Masters film “The Sweetest Sounds,” recalling the works of Broadway composer Richard Rodgers; and 400 years of the history of Britain, from 1000 AD to 1500 AD, as interpreted by Simon Schama. All in all, an excellent allotment of 14 hours of your ICL viewing time.
