Class | Available (Membership Required)
George Clooney made Broadway history with this box office hit about the infamous collision between news broadcaster Edward R Murrow and Senator Joseph McCarthy. Murrow’s triumph over McCarthy resonates today (which is why Clooney mounted the show). Clooney directed and co-wrote the 2005 movie that garnered six Academy Award nominations. This course will overview the career of Edward R Murrow, examine the relevance of his McCarthy defeat (via the movie Good Night and Good Luck) and consider the role of theatre in society.
