Introduction to Drawing

6 Week Class | FULL

Students will be guided to explore line, texture, value, positive and negative space, light and shade, proportion, natural perspective, composition and mark making. Through weekly warm ups, presentations, demonstrations and exercises, you will be drawing from (natural) objects, views, images and imagination. You will explore a variety of dry and wet media and will be introduced to artists who use drawing in their art practice in an art historical and contemporary context. Group critiques and individual feedback will be part of each class.

Beginners and students with some drawing experience are welcome!

Base Tuition: $333 + Material Fee: $25 = $358 Total

Oehmsen-Clark, Tina
Tina Oehmsen-Clark

Tina's work has always been an exploration between various art forms, including sound, dance, installation, sculpture and drawing. She has exhibited in various galleries, museums and public spaces in Germany, Denmark and Canada. Since moving to Toronto in 1996, Oehmsen-Clark has worked on art projects at the AGO, Ryerson Student Gallery, Dancemakers and Wychwood Artscape. Besides her own art practice, she has taught in a number of schools and institutions including TSA. Tina always enjoys working with a wide age range, and believes that teaching art is an interactive learning process, both to inspire and be inspired.
